2015 Year in Review!!

Maybe the morning after Star Wars isn’t the best time to do this. I went to bed hours after I normally do and still had to get up at 6:30 for work today so I am beyond fuzzy.
BUT I realized I hadn’t done this yet and got all excited to type up the post, so here we go, fuzzy headed or not.

1. Pink Dragon
I made a giant, wear-able pink Dragon for a production of Shrek. I only had about 2 weeks on it but I’m fairly happy with it! Wish I had some better pics of it (and on a person.)

2. Elf Queen Aelsa
I was exceptionally lazy the rest of the beginning of the year and didn’t start on anything until around May, when I decided I wanted to make this SUPER OBSCURE Thor character. The project went fast and I got it done in time for Memphis Comic Expo in June.

3. Janet Snakehole
YAY! Couples costume. I made my dress and hat out of leftover materials. Fun project. For Dragon Con obviously.

4. Princess Leia – Comic Suit
Hadn’t done a new Leia costume in years… it was time. For Dragon Con.

5. Captain Marvel
A longtime coming… for Dragon Con again.

6. Donna Noble Unicorn & the Wasp
I’m so glad I picked this up again and finished it. Really very proud of it. For Dragon Con.

7. Georgian Belle
My other big project this year unfortunately needs a little tweaking and I barely got any photos of it. After the holidays I’m planning on fixing the back fit issue, redoing the pick-ups in the skirt and adding more roses – then, photoshoot!

8. Star Wars/Doctor Who bag
Had some fabric. Made another bag. Sorry for the giant instagram embed, I don’t have this in my smugmug gallery for some reason.

9. Tradeshow Skirt
One I don’t have photos of it but I’m including it anyway. Made a 50s style full skirt out of a discarded trade show banner, for wearing at our trade show. It was fun!

10. Mother Earth
Mother Earth dress for Halloween for a friend!

11. Black Suede Bodice
A slow, lazy project I worked on throughout autumn. I wanted to experiment with making a thinner, lighter bodice that would still look nice. Ended up being a bit too small for me so I sold it. (though, I did manage to squeeze into it for a few shots with my Briar Rose costume first)

12. Professor McGonagall
A one-night project for my mom for a Harry Potter showing. I’ve got it back in my sewing room now, taking it up, reinforcing the seams (so the sleeves don’t droop) and making a new hat for her for later.

13. April Ludgate
Does this count? Eh, it’s my list, it’ll count if I want it to. Lazy Halloween day costume.

14. Merida
A for-fun project that ended up turning out better than I thought it would. I really like it. I had wanted to sell it… but now I want to keep it..

ART! Year in review.
I’m only adding this special section because I’ll have some more stuff to add to it before the end of the year – so an edit will be in the future. For now, here are the 5 Leias I did earlier this year.

(more to come as I said!)

2016 Plans

1. Georgian Belle fixes – as I said above.
2. Disgust & Sadness – Ash and I are doing these for MidSouthCon!
3. Edith Cushing – Crimson Peak. Stuff is bought! I’m excited!
4. Bespin Leia – I’m GONNA DO IT! Finally. I swear it.
5. General Leia – maaaaaaaybe, looks fairly simple to put together.

That’s all I’ve got in my head for now.
